Dayton Scoggins, a world champion chainsaw sculptor, will be at Ag Days Yazoo on Oct. 20th at the Triangle Cultural Center, 332 North Main, Yazoo City, Ms. Children of all ages love to watch him turn a wood log into a wonderful piece of art using a chainsaw. He founded his business, Artistry in Wood, in 2002 and has performed at fairs and festivals around the country. His sculptures are found in private and public collections in every state and in many countries. Scoggins is a featured artist in many schools’ “Arts Week” programs. He would be a great addition to any event, as his work will mesmerize those in attendance. One of the specialties of Artistry in Wood is the “Stump Job,” in which Scoggins creates sculptures out of stumps on customers’ properties. There are also many public “Stump Job” carvings around the country and in Europe.
