About: Adapted by Greg Banks, this captivating and unique 50-minute retelling of Carlo Collidi’s Pinocchio will ignite the imagination of young audiences everywhere! This updated, fast-paced version of the classic tale follows the little puppet Pinocchio on his quest to become a real boy. Will the all-too-tempting delights of puppet shows and alluring adventures be too much? Children are asked to interact with the cast as they all follow Pinocchio as he discovers that only by being truthful, selfless and kind to others will his dream of becoming a real boy ever become a reality.
*Best suited for elementary school audiences.

The Junior Auxiliary of Yazoo City in conjunction with the Yazoo Arts Council will present New Stage Theatre Arts-in-Education Touring Program’s production of Pinocchio, adapted by Greg Banks, at the Yazoo Community Complex. Admission is FREE.

Bring your art supplies to Yazoo as artist Benny Melton presents a Beginners Plein Air Painting Class through the Yazoo Arts Council. Seats are $25 for members or $50 for non-menbers. The morning will include a brief seminar about the principles of light, color, and perspective at the Triangle Cultural Center. After a break for lunch (not included) the class will resume with on-location or on-your-own painting in historic downtown Yazoo City.
