YAZOO COUNTY TOURISM RECOGNIZES BEST AND BRIGHTEST IN THE COUNTY’S INDUSTRY

Yazoo City, Miss. (November 21, 2013) – Last week, the Yazoo County Convention & Visitors Bureau, winners of the 2012 and 2013 CVB of the Year for their budget category from the Mississippi Tourism Association, presented a host of awards to tourism entities around the county during the 2013 CVB Honors program.

Held at The No Smoking Smokehouse on Main Street in Yazoo City, the awards ceremony showcased the best and brightest tourism organizations, front line staff members, volunteers and projects from across Yazoo County. The award recipients were as follows:

Restaurant of the Year – Ubon’s Barbeque of Yazoo

Hotel of the Year – Main Street Hotel

Fast Food Establishment of the Year – P-Reaux’s Hut on Broadway

Front Line Staff of the Year, Restaurant – Hazel Davis at Hall of Fame Restaurant

Front Line Staff of the Year, Hotel – Wilma Curry at Main Street Hotel

Attraction of the Year – can differentiate

Attraction of the Year – Blue Front Cafe

Event of the Year – Yazoo County Fair

Event of the Year – Magnolia Crappie Club Wolf Lake Tournament

Volunteer of the Year – Eddie “Ace” Smith

Volunteer of the Year – Etonne Mack

CVB Ambassador of the Year – Steve Hall

Friend of Tourism – Kay Mills

Emory R. Hodgson Community Service Award – Gloria Elayne Owens

The Yazoo County CVB Board Chairman, Mr. John Meeks, was surprised with a “Secret” Service Award for his 20 years of dedicated service to the Yazoo County CVB.
