National Parks Passport Cancellations Now Available in Yazoo County The National Parks Service’s Passport program has expanded to include the Mississippi Delta National Heritage Area, an area which encompasses 18 counties in Mississippi and was designated by Congress in 2009. You can obtain a Passport by visiting www.eparks.com. According to the eparks.com website: Spaces in each region are designated for you to collect rubber stamp cancellations at each national park site you visit. The cancellations, similar to those received in an international passport, record the name of the park and the date you visited. Delta’s Best Tourism

Yazoo Brings Home Two Delta Best Awards October 24, 2014 – Yazoo City, MS – Today, the Yazoo County Convention & Visitors Bureau (Visit Yazoo), and local business people Paul and JoAnn Adams, were each honored with an award from the Mississippi Delta Strategic Compact in Greenwood at Mississippi Valley State University for “Delta Best Tourism” 2014, in recognition of their “outstanding contributions for the betterment of the Mississippi Delta.” The Mississippi Delta Strategic Compact presented their 2014 Delta Best Awards today in the areas of Tourism, Education, Economic Development, and Healthcare at the 4th Annual Future of the Mississippi Delta Conference. “Taste of Yazoo” Fundraiser was a Huge Success October 22, 2014 – Yazoo City, Miss. – The “Taste of Yazoo” fundraiser, coordinated by the Yazoo County Chamber of Commerce and the Yazoo County Convention & Visitors Bureau (Visit Yazoo), was a raging success. Nearly $800 was raised by the event to support the Chamber’s S.O.S. “Save Our Santa” Christmas decorations fundraising campaign. Patrons bought wristbands at a price of $15 each to become a V.I.P. on October 21 from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm, earning them food samples from many of Yazoo County’s restaurants, access to exclusive sales at many Yazoo County retail locations, and the opportunity to win prizes in the form of two $250 Yazoo Gift Certificates. It’s a Three-Peat! Yazoo County CVB Wins 2014 CVB of the Year! MISSISSIPPI TOURISM RECOGNIZES BEST AND BRIGHTEST IN THE STATE’S INDUSTRY Yazoo County, Miss. Louisiana Collegiate Wake Tour coming to Yazoo City in April!

Wolf Lake Event a FIRST for LCWT! Located just 8 miles northwest of Yazoo City, Wolf Lake is an 18,000 acre, 15 mile-long lake that is the Mississippi Delta’s best kept secret. The Louisiana Collegiate Wake Tour traveled outside of their home state for the first time, heading to Wolf Lake on the weekend of April 4 – 6, 2014, the 3rd stop of the LCWT tournament series. Riders from around the country gathered to compete for a chance to be come the 2013-2014 Louisiana Collegiate Wake Tour Champions! The public was encouraged to attend on Saturday, April 5, as pro demos, music, camping and tons of fun converged on Wolf Lake at 1224 Erickson Road, Yazoo City.  The event brought teams from Louisiana, Mississippi, and even Michigan to our area.
